ChatBridge24

WhatsApp in Bitrix24 Open Channels

ChatBridge24 is a Bitrix24 marketplace application. Customer WhatsApp messages arrive in your Open Channels, your team replies from inside the CRM, and every conversation stays attached to the Lead, Deal, Contact or Company it belongs to.

What it does inside Bitrix24

Four places, not one.

01

Open Channels

The integration registers itself as an Open Lines connector, so a WhatsApp number binds to an Open Channel and behaves like any other channel: the queue routes the chat, an operator answers in the Bitrix24 messenger, and delivery and read state come back the same way.

02

A WhatsApp tab on the CRM record

A tab is placed on the Lead, Deal, Contact and Company detail cards, and on Smart Process items. An agent reads the thread and replies without leaving the record they are looking at.

03

An automation robot

A Send WhatsApp message step appears in the automation designer for leads, deals, contacts, companies and Smart Processes. A second step sends an approved template, with its values filled from the record’s own fields.

04

Records created from a first message

A first inbound message can create the record itself — a Lead, a Contact or a Smart Process item, your choice — carrying both the phone number and the messenger identifier, so Open Lines binds to it instead of minting a second one.

The details that decide it

Written from the inside.

Most of what matters in a CRM integration is invisible from a feature list, so here are the parts that take the support calls.

  • The conversation keeps one Bitrix24 chat for life. WhatsApp is moving one-to-one chats onto opaque identifiers, and a naive integration opens a second Bitrix24 chat the day it learns a contact’s phone number. The chat key is pinned at the first delivery and never rewritten, so a customer’s history does not fork in the middle of a conversation.
  • A group chat never creates a CRM record. On the QR transport a group is one Open Channels chat per group, with no phone attached, and participants are not minted as contacts. A 200-member group would otherwise become 200 lead candidates. Somebody becomes a contact by messaging the business directly.
  • The automation step reports back, every time. A Bitrix24 robot that is not answered leaves the record stuck on that step for ever, because Bitrix24 registers no timeout for it. Every outcome — sent, failed, or refused with a reason — releases the step and writes a timeline entry on the record.
  • A refusal is on the record, not in a log. If a rule could not send — no mobile number on the responsible person’s profile, a template value left blank, the 24-hour window closed — the reason appears in the CRM timeline where the person who can fix it will see it.
  • Nothing is queued into the void. Inbound messages that cannot yet be delivered — because no Open Channel is bound, or a Bitrix24 authorisation has expired — wait rather than failing, and flow the moment the condition clears. They are never silently discarded.
  • Where an ad click came from reaches the CRM. If a customer tapped a Click-to-WhatsApp advert, the advert’s identifier, headline and link can be written into fields you choose on the record — so attribution survives the hop from Meta to your pipeline.
  • Read state goes both ways. Blue ticks reach the customer when your operator reads the chat, and an operator reading on their own handset clears the unread count in Bitrix24.

Two transports, and when to pick each

Official, or a linked device.

The official Cloud API

Meta’s own platform. Your WhatsApp Business Account, your Meta billing, no device to keep online, approved templates, a quality rating and a messaging tier. Pick this unless you have a reason not to. It has no group messaging — that is an absence in Meta’s interface, not a setting.

QR, as a linked device

The number is linked by scanning a QR code from the WhatsApp app, the way WhatsApp Web is. It keeps group chats and needs no template approval, and it is not Meta’s official transport: the customer’s phone must stay online, and high-volume outbound to people who are not contacts is how numbers get banned. We will say plainly whether it fits what you are doing.

Installing it

Three steps, inside your own portal.

01

Install the application

From the Bitrix24 Marketplace, into the portal you want it in. It runs inside the portal; there is nothing to host and nothing to maintain.

02

Connect a number

For the official platform, sign in to Meta and pick your business and phone number — one dialog, no tokens to paste. For QR, scan the code with the WhatsApp app.

03

Bind it to an Open Channel

Choose which Open Channel the number’s conversations should land in, so your existing queue and routing rules apply. Open Channels is optional: plenty of portals use the app purely as a WhatsApp inbox with the automation robot.

What appears in your portal

Named, so nothing is a surprise.

An administrator’s first visit registers everything the integration needs. All of it is re-asserted automatically afterwards, because Bitrix24 removes a registered automation step whenever an application is updated:

  • an Open Lines connector, which appears as a channel in Contact Center;
  • four CRM tab placements — Lead, Deal, Contact and Company — plus Smart Process items;
  • two automation steps: send a message, and send an approved template;
  • event handlers, so a reply typed in Bitrix24 reaches WhatsApp and a read receipt comes back.

Uninstalling removes them. Messages already delivered stay in your Bitrix24, because they are Bitrix24 records; what we hold is deleted on the schedule in the privacy policy.

What it costs

Per connected number.

On the official platform, from $50 per connected number per month, with your whole team included and no seat charge. Meta’s per-message charges are billed to you by Meta at its own rates, and we add nothing to them. The full price list.

The QR option is priced per number as well and we quote it case by case, because it is not the official transport and the right answer depends on what you intend to send. Ask us.

Questions

From real installs.

Does it work on a self-hosted Bitrix24?

Yes. The application runs the same way on Bitrix24 On-Premise as on a cloud portal; a self-hosted portal issues its own authorisation tokens and the integration follows them.

Do I have to use Open Channels?

No, and this is worth knowing before you set it up. Many portals use the app as a WhatsApp inbox and an automation sender and never bind an Open Channel at all. Binding one later delivers the conversations that were waiting for it.

Can several numbers go to different Open Channels?

Yes. Each connected number binds to the Open Channel you choose, so a sales number and a support number can route to different queues.

Will the CRM tab appear twice?

No. Bitrix24 performs no uniqueness check when an application registers a widget, so a careless integration can leave two identical tabs on every card for ever. Ours reads what is already registered before it writes, and replaces rather than adds.

What happens to an automation rule if the message cannot be sent?

The step is released with the reason, and the reason is written to the record’s timeline. The rule never hangs.

Can an automation rule send to the responsible person instead of the customer?

Yes — point the step’s "Send to" at any phone field on the record, including the responsible person’s mobile. It only ever sends where you point it: there is no fallback that guesses, because guessing is how an internal notice reaches a prospect.
